I am feeling drunk with jet lag and writing this at 3am as I can’t sleep.
I went to Paris to share a ‘significant’ birthday with a very good friend I have known since I was 11. This has been a long standing agreement made in our somewhat reckless single days – we would meet in Paris in September 2008. There were three of us – with no French between us, lists of ‘must do’s in Paris and a common desire to taste as much food and wines as we could in between the shopping and walking. We laughed and laughed –got tired feet - but I was disappointed that we didn’t get around to going dancing.
I went to Venice on my own to rekindle business on the way and caught the end of London fashion week on the way home. Will share some of those in the next newsletter.

A photo realist view of private home doors and porches taken by Kate Shelton whilst on her morning walks around the streets of Queanbeyan. These 50 ‘snapped’ photos reflect the different influences on suburban architecture over a period of time. It also reveals cultural influences and individual approaches to the way we adorn and secure the entrances to our homes.

The Refectory – we are now gradually introducing a ‘Summer ‘Menu
I was very inspired by the food I saw and tasted in Italy and Paris – not so much the ‘mother country’ – thank goodness for the European immigrants after the war – or we would be eating Cornish pastries as a treat.
The lucky newsletter voucher for this week goes to Kate M. Hancock. Must be collected from the bead shop by next Thursday 2nd October 2008.
Take Care,
Kate
