Afternoon All,
Holidays are gone when I watch the little ones lumping their new school bags up the hill in the heat of February. Most are happy the holidays have ended – the children, the mothers – and I have waved my old husband goodbye as he happily goes back to work.
NEW STOCK
We have some lovely new hand made glass rings in – based on ‘bush tucker’ designs.
Sterling silver has been replenished and Japanese kimono beads are on the way.
NEW PUPPY
We had some sad times over the Christmas break having to put our dog ‘Bella’ down. Even sadder was watching her mate ‘Cristo’ mourn and pine for her as he had not lived without another dog. Well, the good news is we now have a new little Cavalier puppy ‘Daisy’. Cristo is in love with her, he has a new lease of life and we waste hours playing, feeding and watching.
CLUBS
New courses, Book Club, Beading Group, Food and Wine club all get under way in February. Book Club and Food and Wine Club – are mixed ages and mixed sexes.
Ring me for details.
NEW FLOOR
Hopefully you will have a surprise in a few weeks. The old carpet is coming up in ‘The Refectory’ and the original floor boards will be polished. We really don’t know what is under there yet. One room at a time!
TALL, DARK and HANDSOME
PM’s V11 is on today – normally I would not take much notice but I feel as if I know the West Indian Cricket team quite intimately now. I was at the gym on Monday – was the only one there at 2pm– in come these tall, dark, athletic blokes. I suddenly wished I was younger and curvaceous rather than rotund and old enough to mother them. I considered wether I should get my cricket tragic husband some autographs, but thought better of it, smiled at them and left as they filled the room with energy and testosterone. I chuckled to myself in the change room and rang my old husband to have a skite about being up close and personal with cricketers – even if I was in my non trendy gym gear at the end of my gentle work out.
We have seen all the movies – even Avatar – but this weekend we are off to the multicultural festival. Might even find some new food ideas
MARKETS
Good News – Summer Evening Markets will be held every Friday night in March at the Q Theatre in Queanbeyan. Includes crafts and produce, food and entertainment. It’s a beautiful venue for markets. Any interested stall holders contact Georgina Perri at the Queanbeyan City Council.
