FASHION PARADE - Sunday 28th October
Frugal fashions – spring/summer parade is on 25th October. Interesting group of designers who are considering where and how their product is imprints on the environment. Bookings are essential and numbers limited – so call to secure a ticket.
NEW ‘STORIES + SONGS + SCONES’
Stories, songs and scones next Sunday – this is my most favourite day at Benedict House. Don’t know how the scones will be but listening to musicians – young and old- and hearing the extraordinary stories of ordinary people – sharing a wine – is so exciting for me. You may find this event replicated at another café in Queanbeyan in the near future- our High Teas and fresh produce markets have been replicated so I expect the music afternoons and fashion parades will be next. Shall wait to see.

My old husband, dear dear. He is in despair. The TV is off, the radio alarm switched off so we cannot hear any cricket scores. I have not learnt the art of helping one grieve over cricket bat ashes yet – surely there is something on the internet or twitter support group.
Been to a lot of serious, thought provoking movies lately- my old brain does not want to be provoked all the time. I am looking forward to seeing the ’September Issue’ for some light entertainment.
Being one of eight siblings, my family are scattered over the world so I don’t see them all that often. My mother- who taught me many crafts – and my sister will visit in September- they will be in café and I am very excited, so come and meet them.
My studio has been moved upstairs – a good move I feel. Workshops are now held in that room. Take a look and see the lovely table we now have to sit around. It comes from the home of our new neighbours in Isabella Street –Pauline, John and their son James. We welcome them to Isabella Street and now become the caretakers of the table.
Work available – some of the stall holders at Epic Regional markets are looking for young people to help sell their produce from 7am- 11.30. Healthy, hearty, amongst clean farm produce – great for student income. Contact Kate for further info- 62842868
Casual work in the café in December may be needed – enquires Kate 62842868
Take care,
Kate
