BENEDICT HOUSE NEWSLETTER

Good Afternoon All

Here I am back at the desk after a lovely break on the north coast and with family in northern NSW where there was lots of rain and lush grasslands. I am assuming that many of you will be away until after the long weekend – then it will be back to the routine.

The workers in the Kazuri ceramics factory in Kenya are on my mind as many are having trouble getting to work with the unrest. They were referred to in a recent article in Times 2.

Also have some photos of Tinga in northern NSW where life is not so easy (except maybe if you are a cow)

Café and Rooms
We are in the process of rearranging/ painting some rooms in preparation for the café. Just ignore the odd bits of furniture around the place for the present. Don’t stand on one leg waiting for the café – I refuse to let it stress me and am plodding along.

Four of my sisters, one of my brothers and one niece managed to cater for our mothers 80th birthday party with 100 guests. We started at 8.30 am served lunch at 1pm and had enough for them to stay on and have dinner. A group of cousins got in and washed up – whew! At least it is 10 years until the 90th. We will be back into the movie routine next week – much to my husband’s delight

The lucky newsletter voucher for this week goes to Helen Gee. Must be collected from the bead shop by next Thursday 31st January 2008.

I am planning a poetry reading night when the nights get hot in Februaury - be prepared with your favourite poem

Enjoy Australia Day and take care,
Kate
