RAPT in FELT
This is one of my very favourite events in the calendar. The very creative and friendly group of women from the ACT Felters gather together to exhibit their garments.
Where – CSIRO Discovery Centre
When – 29 May-1st June 10am-4pm

QUEANBEYAN CUP Last Sunday
Did we have fun! Handbags, hats and gloves where all out as well as a tipple. We sat in the warmth of the dining hall in between scouting around looking for ‘Fashion of the Field’ candidates. We were impressed with the standards – even the men scrubbed up.
Andrew (who works on our website) is usually a cautious man rather than a betting man. He lay $1 to win on the outsider in the second last race – it won at 61/1 – so he collected $60 as well as another $30 on another outsider on the last race. Our group was called the ‘lucky punters’ by the bookies as we selected the horses by names and colours. We all came home with money in our pockets. We are now preparing for ‘Ladies Day’ in November.

KITCHEN
The fire regulations – last hurdle

MOVIES
Much to my old husband’s dismay – our movie going has been sporadic He has been helping build the cement access ramp at the western side of the building. The last one we saw was ‘The Painted Veil’ and we were both pleasantly surprised with this film as it didn’t get great write ups. Maybe one has to be a certain vintage to appreciate Somerset Maugham.

PROVERB
Failures are the pillars of success Wales

The lucky newsletter voucher for this week goes to Anna Senior. Must be collected from the bead shop by next Thursday 29th May 2008.

Take Care,
Kate
