SUNDAY BEADING
Some who have completed the beginners course would like to continue to meet up and bead together as a social/sharing outing
We can make the classroom available on Sunday mornings from 10am -1pm for people to come and use the facilities
$5 per person - no tuition- use our tools and space - bring your own beads and materials and have time away from family commitments -to be creative

PRODUCE
If you happen to grow something or make some produce – or maybe know of some local suppliers – I would love to know as I want as much regional and seasonal produce as possible

In the Blue Mountains – Katoomba has been named a “cittaslow” city.
Cittaslow, which is Italian for "slow city" or "slow town" is an international network of towns. A Cittaslow signs up to working towards a set of goals that aim to improve quality of life, and needs to pass an assessment before being admitted as a member of the Cittaslow network.
Cittaslow is a way of thinking. It is about caring for your town and the people who live and work in it or visit it. It is about protecting the environment, about promoting local goods and produce, and about avoiding the ‘sameness’ that afflicts too many towns in the modern world.

If there is enough interest I am intending to have a ‘Swap and Sell” day where people can bring they old goods, locally grown produce and anything that may be treasured by another

KITCHEN AND 'THE REFECTORY'
From 16th July – Oooooh – so close and so much to do.
I was very inspired by the mountain food and cosy cafes.

MOVIE
We did not see a movie this week as we travelled to the Blue Mountains for a short escape Here is my brief travel review
We stayed at the old Hydro Majestic – in a standard room $130
Fantastic Art Deco design, architecture and spectacular views
The Hotel is trying to recreate itself to its past glory – but does not hit the mark as yet.
Katoomba was full of good cafes and second hand shops, Leura was really trendy and busy, Wentworth Falls was small and cute, as was Blackheath, Springwood was family and retirement oriented.
The old Carrington was being done up and it looked fantastic.
I would really have loved to have been there in it’s hey day

A work space to Spare?
Does anyone have a room or work studio to rent Designer, Roseanne Wallace needs a place to create and sew

Artist’s Easel
I have a very large and very sturdy easel – well used but solid – free to a good home
Also free a very small ceramic kiln for someone who wants to play around with precious metal clay

The lucky newsletter voucher for this week goes to Suzanne Crilly. Must be collected from the bead shop by next Thursday 17th July 2008.

Take Care,
Kate
