BENEDICT HOUSE NEWSLETTER

Afternoon all,

What lovely weather we are having- with a few spots of rain. Customers are seeking the sun, finding sheltered spots in the courtyard and flowers are beginning to show their prettiest faces

Science has never drummed up quite as effective a tranquilizing agent as a sunny spring day. ~W. Earl Hall

We have lots of new stock and replenishment of old – pictured below.

Breaking the Law

Some of our neighbours get very agitated if they do not have full access to their driveways on the weekend, especially if they are want to use trailers etc. Please do not park driveways in. Best parking is Thorpe Street (next to our back yard) – use the side gate and side door.

The Refectory
We welcome Sue to the kitchen. She has brought much experience and as well as her homemade pasta, cannelloni, apple pies. Watch out for the spring menu and her produce for sale on the weekends.

FASHION PARADE - Sunday 28th October
Frugal fashions – spring/summer parade is on 25th October. Interesting group of designers who are considering where and how their product is imprints on the environment. Bookings are essential and numbers limited – so call to secure a ticket.

NEW ‘STORIES + SONGS + SCONES’
Stories, songs and scones next Sunday – this is my most favourite day at Benedict House. Don’t know how the scones will be but listening to musicians – young and old- and hearing the extraordinary stories of ordinary people – sharing a wine – is so exciting for me. You may find this event replicated at another café in Queanbeyan in the near future- our High Teas and fresh produce markets have been replicated so I expect the music afternoons and fashion parades will be next. Shall wait to see.

Happy Father’s Day to all the Dad’s – don’t think there are many who have requested this newsletter.

“Any man can be a father, but it takes a special person to be a dad”
Mother’s be kind, - watch out for flying passion and spring kisses.

On the cynical side I am told that Mother’s Day and Fathers’ Day were created by retailers because May and August are the slowest retail months of the year?

Take care,
Kate
