Hands of Help – a group of young Aussies in their 20’s have initiated this to help alleviate poverty in developing countries. They are having a photography exhibition at Canberra Boys Grammer on 6th October. See Kate re invitation or look up their website- www.handsofhelp.org

Fashion Parade – Saturday September 15th 2pm
We are getting busy for this parade. As well as BM Designs and our stuff we will feature Amie Christie who specializes in formal wear for young ones. As well MABU from Perth will feature their contemporary designs for larger sizes – 12-20.





Poles Apart – ACT Textiles Ass are having their exhibition and Fashion parade on Thursday 20th Sept at the Discovery Centre, Clunies Ross Street. You will see great work there. www.acttextiles.org.au


My tip for the week is – don’t put the winter woollies away just yet, but when you dare to do so put some bay leaves amongst them. Silver fish don’t like bay leaves

We saw ‘Once’ this week. I loved this film. Musicians will love it.

I went to Dubbo last weekend to catch up with all the country boarders that I went to school with. It was great to spend the weekend with these old friends. Sometimes we think things are tough here in Canberra when we have water restrictions on our small patches of lawn- but some of those country women are really doing it tough. Most are tough as old boots and always ready for a yarn and a laugh.
