BENEDICT HOUSE NEWSLETTER

Hello All,

Here we are drowning in the first week of December – the rising damp is now racing up the walls at Benedict House. Even the beetroot has created a forest! A baby rainbow lorikeet fell out of its nest in the awnings and was not doing well in the damp weather. “Pretty Polly” is now doing well and will probably be part of the group that reside in the garden when she is up to it.

A Christmas candle is a lovely thing; It makes no noise at all, But softly gives itself away.
~Eva Logue

There is a feel now for the festive season. The decorations are out and I hear guests exchanging Season’s greetings as they depart. Not quite time for carols yet as Bing Crosby is the only one I like and we cant listen to him for four weeks.

NEW STOCK
We have new stock coming in all the time – mywallet bags, wallets and purses are back in stock, as are the handbag hooks, wine pourers etc. Soaps and sterling silver earrings next week and sild scarves On 15th Dec.

ABC 666 RADIO AT BENEDDICT HOUSE 9 DEC
It’s lovely to make and give a handmade gift at Christmas. But where do you start with creative classy crafts? Genevieve has the answers. On Thursday 9th December join Genevieve Jacobs for a Handmade Afternoon at Benedict House, from 1pm-3pm. Let local artists give you some great gift ideas that you can do at home. If you’d like to be part of this special event ring the 666 competition line on 6275 4612 and tell us about your greatest homemade gift triumph or disaster.

The Refectory and courtyard will be used for this event so there will be no lunch bookings on that day.

GREETINGS FOR THE SEASON
This will be the last newsletter for the year so I will take this opportunity thank all our loyal and regular customers for your continued support and friendship. Benedict House provides many things to many people, and many people provide Benedict House – for that we are most grateful. I do hope you enjoy this Christmas Season and the New Year; I hope it is stress-free and full of fun with the family or friends.

We are heading north to visit my mother – for once I will look forward to the 40 degree heat of Moree. I don’t think we will be listening to the cricket in the car – my old husband has gone silent on matters of the Ashes.
