Benedict House

My sister came to stay and we went to Sydney to a trade show. We stayed at Parramatta and wandered down to the restaurant strip last Friday evening. Enjoying the outdoor dining we were very relaxed until the whole street exploded with exuberant football fans – Parramatta having just won the semi finals. Horns, puffed up chests, flags, riding on bumper bars, pumping of music– so much testosterone – we were absolutely in the throng of it. We laughed and laughed – two unlikely spectators – the only females over 50 to be seen – a definite change of scene from Benedict House.

My husband and I saw Blessed last week. Though it was confronting, we thought it was excellent – one of the best Australian films we have seen for some time. Makes one consider assuming anything about anyone.

The old husband is on holidays. He has made a wooden leg to replace the cheap plastic leg off the stove and now he is making a wooden key to replace the broken one on the piano. It is so good to have a handy man around.
